I wanted to echo last week's call to arms for those of you with an interest in environmental sustainability. Recall, last year, we ran four management briefings on the matter. Well, we're doing it all again this year. So, if you'd like your company's environmental efforts to be highlighted, email me at news@just-drinks.com and I'll put you in touch with the reports' author.
This month's management briefing, which previews the year ahead, gathers pace, with part two of Euromonitor's forecasts, looking at bottled water, going live last week. Expect the remaining three chapters to hit between now and the end of January.
In the news last week:
- South Africa's wine exports hit a new high in 2012 as poor harvests in rival nations boosted demand for the country's brands.
- The Coca-Cola Co launched an ad campaign in the US defending itself from charges that it has played a major role in the country's obesity epidemic.
- An analyst warned that Anheuser-Busch InBev's bid to acquire the rest of Grupo Modelo could collapse due to "draconian" measures that US regulators are insisting on.
- Rémy Cointreau posted a healthy jump in year-to-date sales in the nine months to the end of December, as Cognac sales remained strong despite the later Chinese New Year.
